The Society of Monstrous Women was founded in 2019 in Mobile, Alabama as a creative, feminist Mardi Gras Marching Society.
Join us in making exuberant personal costumes and parade throws. Good, Bad, Happy or Mad – anything goes. Most importantly we will have fun, make things, and come together. To that end, once a month we will meet to chat, eat, and drink as we craft our costumes. Currently meetings are at 6pm on the second Tuesday of the month. Location will be confirmed before the meeting on instagram @societyofmonstrouswomen and/or via email (email societyofmonstrouswomen at g mail dot com to get on mailing list).
We will share our fantastic creations in the People’s March on Joe Cain Day followed by a MONSTROUS FEAST, ‘cause a girl’s gotta eat.
